چکیده

This study aimed to investigate the prevalence, molecular characteristics and antibiotic resistance of Staphylococcus aureus isolates from yak butter in Tibet, China. A total 218 samples were collected retail stores Tibet screened for Staph. aureus. Furthermore, virulence genes, antimicrobial susceptibility, typing [pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), multilocus sequence typing, staphylococcal protein (spa) typing] detected. The results showed that 12.4% contaminated with aureus, including 5 positive methicillin-resistant (MRSA). Among all isolates, 96.3% harbored one or more classical (sea sec), novel enterotoxin-encoding genes (seh, sek, sel, seq), hemolysin (hla hld). All resistant at least 2 different classes, most commonly sulfonamides, β-lactams, erythromycin. For blaZ (74.1%) was frequently detected, followed by dfrG (51.9%), erm(B) (22.2%), mecA (18.5%), tet(K) (14.8%), aph(2″)-Ia, aph(3′)-III, ant(6)-Ia (11.1% each), erm(C) (7.4%). We detected 8 spa types, 6 types (ST), clonal complex (CC) types. In addition, 1 isolate nontypeable. found CC1-ST1-t559 (55.6%) predominant clone, CC59-ST59-t437 (11.1%), CC5-ST5-t002 (7.4%), CC1-ST1, CC1-ST1-t114, CC1-ST573-t4938, CC1-ST573-t8915, CC30-ST30-t021, CC25-ST25-t167 (3.7% each). PFGE a clusters 15 pulsotypes generated, some indistinguishable pulsotypes. Our findings suggest produced China, could be strains, MRSA carrying various representing multiple phenotypes. presence potentially virulent antibiotic-resistant strains poses potential threat consumers, appropriate measures need taken production chain reduce occurrence butter.

Genotypic Characterization of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus Isolated from Pigs and Retail Foods in China.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the genotypic diversity of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) isolated from pigs and retail foods from different geographical areas in China and further to study the routes and rates of transmission of this pathogen from animals to food. METHODS Seventy-one MRSA isolates were obtained from pigs and retail foods and then characterized by multi-locus seq...

Prevalence of Vancomycin Resistance in Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus

Background & Aims: Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most common pathogens in nosocomial infections. Vancomycin is the most important therapeutic drug of choice for treatment of infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains. Therefore, vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) or vancomycin-intermediate Staphylococcus aureus (VISA) strains are warning...

Prevalence of Staphylococcus aureus and Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus in Retail Ready-to-Eat Foods in China

Staphylococcus aureus, particularly methicillin-resistant S.aureus (MRSA), is a life-threatening pathogen in humans, and its presence in food is a public health concern. MRSA has been identified in foods in China, but little information is available regarding MRSA in ready-to-eat (RTE) foods. We aimed to investigate the prevalence of S. aureus and MRSA in Chinese retail RTE foods. All isolated ...

Prevalence and characterization of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolates from retail meat and humans in Georgia.

There is increasing interest in the presence of Staphylococcus aureus, specifically methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA), on retail meat products. In this study, staphylococci were isolated from retail pork and retail beef in Georgia, and MRSA from the products was compared to human MRSA from the same geographic area using broth microdilution antimicrobial susceptibility testing, multilocus s...

In-vitro and In-vivo Evaluation of Silymarin Nanoliposomes against Isolated Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus

Staphylococcus aureus is an opportunistic pathogen and remains a common cause of burn wound infections. Different studies have shown that entrapment of plant-derived compounds into liposomes could increase their anti-Staphylococcus aureus activity. Silymarin is the bioactive extract from the known plant Silybum marianum L. The objective of this study was to evaluate efficacy of silymarin in fre...
